Winter Walking
I’m loving not contending with shitloads of snow this winter, and the fact that I can go walking in the woods still – woods that are lush and green in December. It’s chilly, but who cares? I can deal with chilly.
I’ve been on a couple of walks to local parks in the last few days. Sunday my friend T and I went to Kanaka Creek Park and walked along the canyon trail there, which follows a river. Here is the Flickr set from that walk.
Yesterday, my friend TW went on a lovely walk in Golden Ears Provincial Park. We’ve walked here before, but this time we took a different trail, and it was gorgeous. The greens were amazing. I much prefer green to white. We saw a little bit of white, but it was either higher above us or in the form of frost. And there were tons of mushrooms to photograph, too, which is very cool because both TW and I share a passion for mushroom photography. 🙂 The Flickr set from that walk is here.
Yeah, I am not missing the Rossland winter, that’s for sure.
The funghi pictures were great. We are glad you are enjoying the coastal winter, but we miss you (and your baking) – just kidding about the baking. Hope Juno is doing well.
BC walkies, best walkies 🙂
(Indeed, how is your kitty getting on?)
Sounds and looks great.
What a beautiful spot. I haven’t been on too many trails in Golden Ears, and I know I should see more of it. It’s a lovely spot.
